Best Time to Visit San Francisco

San Francisco's famous microclimate system means weather varies dramatically from neighbourhood to neighbourhood and season to season. The city's Mediterranean climate brings mild, dry summers and wet winters — but the iconic Karl the Fog rolls in from the Pacific most summer mornings, particularly in July and August.

September and October are widely considered the best months to visit, with warm temperatures, clear skies, and lower tourist numbers than peak summer. Spring (April–May) brings wildflowers and mild conditions, while winter remains dry and comfortable by the standards of most of the world.
